Turk’s triple-double paces Orlando past Golden State
The Orlando Magic defeated the Golden State Warriors by a score of 110 to 90 to extend their winning streak to six games.
An uninspired, inauspicious first half resulted in the Magic facing a 9 point deficit at halftime but a fiery Stan Van Gundy halftime speech would be just what the team needed to turn things around. The Magic came out with a huge 35 point 3rd quarter and turned that 9 point deficit into an 8 point advantage heading into the 4th.
The Magic players didn’t let up at that point and played locked-down D for the remainder of the game to bring home another W.
Despite looking like he was playing the first half of the game on Ambien, Hedo Turkoglu ended up being the catalyst tonight for the Magic. Turk finished with a triple double for the night thanks to a late assist to a streaking J.J. Redick for three. Hedo is starting to look like his old self again and is firing up plenty of off-balance shots, loafing through halves and dropping ridiculously good stat lines. Turk like ball. Final stat line for Hedo: 10 points, 14 rebounds, 10 assists and 5 Warriors turnovers steals.
Dwight Howard once again led the Magic in scoring with 22 points and all 8 players that played meaningful minutes for the Magic scored in double figures.
Jason Richardson seemed to be a big fan of the 6’3” 185lbs, Monta Ellis defending him and had one of his better nights as a Magic player scoring 20 points. J.J. Redick and Ryan Anderson paced the rest of the team with 13 points each.
The Magic are back in action on Wednesday against the Milwaukee Bucks at 7pm. Tickets are still available from as low as $18 here.
