Orlando Magic reportedly set to open NBA season on Christmas Day
As reported yesterday by former Sentinel staff writer Zach McCann, the Orlando Magic are set to open the season on Christmas Day in Oklahoma City against Kevin Durant and the Thunder. The official announcement is expected to be released today and I’ll post the details as they become available. It was previously believed that the Magic would start the season at home on December 26th. Essentially they are trading one extra day of player movement and practice (plus travel time) for the opportunity to be in the national spotlight. Should be no issue assuming the core group remains the same.
The Magic had a 1-1 record last season against the Thunder with each team winning at home. Dwight Howard scored 39 points in the loss and 40 in the win. The key to beating the Thunder will be making sure that Dwight scores 40. #deepanalysis
Only 23 more days until Magic fans get to see their team in action!
