Chris Duhon’s Stand Tall Foundation to Hold Sneaker Collection Drive
Orlando, Fla.—As part of the Sneakers-2-Succeed Campaign, Orlando Magic guard Chris Duhon’s Stand Tall Foundation will hold a sneaker collection drive on Wednesday, April 25 at Fan Fest outside of Amway Center (400 W. Church St., Orlando, 32804) from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. before the Magic vs. Grizzlies matchup.
Duhon and his foundation partnered with The Art of Stepping (AOS) to create the Sneakers-2-Succeed campaign. The year-long campaign is an effort to collect new or gently used sneakers to promote health awareness and help combat obesity. The Jefferson Awards Program of Seminole County, in conjunction with Duhon and AOS, launched Operation 1-7-5-2, a Seminole County initiative under the Sneakers-2-Succeed campaign, which collects sneakers for students identified by Seminole County Public School’s Families in Transition (FIT) Program. For each item donated fans will be entered into a raffle for great prizes including a Magic team autograph ball and an opportunity to participate in the Stand Tall Foundation’s annual bowling tournament in September.
Donations are also being collected at the following Seminole County Public Schools: Lake Howell High School, Lake Brantley H.S., Lake Mary H.S., Lyman H.S. and Oviedo H.S. For more information or to make a cash donation, please visit www.chrisduhonstandtall.org.
The Families in Transition Program was established in April 2003 to serve the educational needs of children in the Seminole County School System who are considered homeless. This program works towards family stability and student success in school.
