Magic Clinch Playoff Spot – Another Player Injured

2012 April 16
by Brian Serra

Not that it was ever really in doubt, but with the team limping towards the end of the regular season they are at a minimum assured to be playing past April 21st. With their 100-84 win over Cleveland on Sunday night, the Orlando Magic clinched their 6th consecutive playoff appearance.

“It means a lot (to clinch) because once you get in the playoffs you have an opportunity to win. We have to play hard as we can the rest of the way and do some great things there (in the playoffs). But we still have to close the regular season out right and win these games in front of us.’’  -Jameer Nelson

It wasn’t all good news for Orlando on Sunday night as ANOTHER impact player went down, Glen Big Baby Davis, with a hyper extended right knee. No time-table has been set for his return yet. I believe the correct phrase is…”Here we go again.”
