Jameer Nelson & J.J. Redick both returning to the Orlando Magic
It was a good day to be a Magic fan if you were pulling for the return of two of Orlando’s fan favorites. Jameer Nelson is set to return to the Magic after agreeing to a new multi-year contract and J.J. Redick will have the final year of his contract picked up. Redick’s final year was unguaranteed if waived before July 8th.
Glad to say I’ve reached an agreement with the Magic… I’m blessed to have the best fans and a great organization supporting me!

Jameer’s deal is reportedly for 3 years and $19.7M total. A good, but not great deal for the Magic as currently reported – but that could change depending on the overall terms of the final year. Jameer has played his entire career in Orlando and both parties expressed an interest in bringing him back after he declined his player option.
J.J. Redick will also be returning per Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports.
Orlando plans to pick up $6M option on final year of J.J. Redick’s contract, league sources tell Y! Sports. Magic have until week’s end.

These two moves were both expected, but they still signify that the phrases “slash and burn” and “tanking” are not likely to be a part of the Rob Hennigan lexicon.Powered by Sidelines
