The Magic re-sign ISH SMITH!

Exclamation marks solely because I love saying Ish Smith’s name. And because selfishly, I think he is fun to watch. And a nice guy. And the Magic really needed a backup point guard.

Smith was signed as a free agent by Orlando on Feb. 2.  In 20 outings with the Magic, he averaged 2.3 ppg., 1.6 apg. and 1.3 rpg. in 8.6 minpg.  Smith struggled to get past Chris Duhon, which is less of a criticism of Smith and more a general stubbornness lack of trust from Stan Van Gundy in terms of running the offense. Whatever Ish lacks in shooting, dribbling and defense… he makes up for by being fast. So there is that.

Ish was signed to a 3-year deal at the veteran’s minimum with the final two years being fully un-guaranteed.
