Magic fall again in Milwaukee
The injury plagued Magic lost their ninth straight game in Milwaukee, losing by a score of 107-98. The Magic sat three starters on the sideline with Jameer Nelson, Arron Afflalo and of course Big Baby all out with injuries.
Strong nights from Maurice Harkless (19 points and 14 rebounds) and Nik Vucevic (20 points and 12 rebounds) kept the score respectable but realistically, this squad had little chance to compete. The athletic backcourt of Brandon Jennings and Monta Ellis (combined 41 points) ran all over E’Twaun Moore, who started for Nelson, and J.J. Redick. Moore and Redick combined to shoot 8-30 on the night.
“This is the NBA, everybody can play,” Harkless said. “It’s just a matter of when you’re going to get an opportunity, and I think we did a good job today of competing. Unfortunately, we didn’t come out with a win, but I think we showed what we can do.” – Harkless to the Orlando Sentinel after the game.
The final game of the 5-game road trip is Monday night in Philly. Tip is set for 7:00 EST.
