Magic, Clippers Have “Mutual Interest” In Eric Bledsoe Deal
According to Marc Stein and Ramona Shelburne of ESPN.com, the Orlando Magic and Los Angeles Clippers still could work out a deal that would send point guard Eric Bledsoe to Orlando. The scribes explain the two teams engaged in trade talks during predraft workouts in Chciago and “there is a level of mutual interest on both sides.”
The deal would include Bledsoe, the expiring contract of Clippers wing Caron Butler and Magic swingman Arron Afflalo. The talks are “preliminary” and it is “believed that the Clippers would want at least one more asset in order to part with their prized young point guard.”
The Clippers also could pursue Boston Celtics head coach Doc Rivers and Stein and Shelburne point out the Celtics and Clippers discussed a trade that would center around Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, DeAndre Jordan and Bledsoe.
As Chris Paul’s backup last season, Bledsoe averaged 8.5 points, 3.1 assists and 3.0 rebounds per game.
