Nerlens Noel Still In Play?

2013 June 20

According to various reports, the Cleveland Cavaliers aren’t sold on drafting Kentucky center Nerlens Noel and would prefer to trade the pick.

Many outlets are even reporting Maryland center Alex Len will be the pick if Cleveland is unable to strike a deal.

Should these reports be true, the Magic would obviously strongly consider drafting Noel with the second pick of the draft. Noel visited the Magic just over two weeks ago.

According to the majority of NBA draft experts, Noel appears to be the best prospect in the draft, but his ACL tear could be scaring off the Cavaliers, who would like to speed up their rebuilding process.

The Magic, who seem to be in no rush to contend, could be the perfect landing spot for Noel. He could continue to rehab his knee and help set the Magic up for another top pick in what should be a loaded 2014 draft.

It is widely believed the Magic are choosing between Kansas guard Ben McLemore, Indiana wing Victor Oladipo and possibly Michigan point guard Trey Burke, but they have seemingly cooled on Burke.
