[Update 11:05 AM 25-June] It appears that the package to L.A. could also include last year’s first round pick, Andrew Nicholson, and a future protected first round pick. Steve Kyler of HOOPSWORLD has the info in his NBA AM Column:

“As of last night, it seemed the Magic’s deal was centered around Arron Afflalo and possibly last year’s first-round selection Andrew Nicholson. There was talk that a protected 2015 first-round pick would be included, basically replacing the draft asset the Clippers had to surrender to get Doc Rivers out of Boston.”

Per Mark Heisler of Sports City, now that the Los Angeles Clippers have locked up former Boston Celtics coach Doc Rivers, they are moving in on a trade of backup point Eric Bledsoe in order to acquire a starting shooting guard.

Eric Bledsoe and Caron Butler are expected to be packaged in a draft-day trade for Orlando’s Arron Afflalo, addressing the Clipper need for a shooting guard.

This would allowed to Magic to eliminate the option of drafting a point guard, whether that means selecting Michigan’s Trey Burke at two, trading back or trading back into the lottery and targeting Syracuse’s Michael Carter-Williams or Lehigh’s C.J. McCollum.

That would presumably mean the Magic are down Kansas’s Ben McLemore or Indiana’s Victor Oladipo, unless of course the rumors are true and the Cleveland Cavaliers select Maryland center Alex Len instead of Kentucky center Nerlens Noel.

If that is the case, the Magic will take a long look at Noel.

Chad Ford reported today that the Magic have “looked the most at prospect Nerlens Noel.”

Yeah, but I still don’t think Noel will drop
