Injury Updates: Jameer Nelson and Nik Vucevic

Jameer Nelson has missed the last three and a half games and Nik Vucevic missed Tuesday night’s game against Philadelphia, but both look like they could return when the Magic face off against the New York Knicks on Friday night at MSG.

Via Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel, “Point guard Jameer Nelson and center Nik Vucevic were scheduled to participate in the Magic’s practice Thursday at Baruch College in Manhattan. Nelson is recovering from a sprained left foot, while Vucevic is recovering from a sprained left ankle.

“We’ll try to evaluate them and see what they look like,” Magic coach Jacque Vaughn said.

Orlando should have some extra motivation from an organizational standpoint to have Nelson and Vucevic play, as another loss for the Knicks helps towards the extra draft pick owed to the Magic in the 2014 draft. The Magic will receive a pick from either the Knicks (3-13) or Denver Nuggets (11-7), whichever is worse. If the season ended today, the Magic would receive the 23rd pick from Denver.
