Orlando Magic Will Celebrate India Day on Sunday
In appreciation of the Orlando Magic’s diverse fan base, for the second consecutive year the team will partner with the Indian-American Chamber to host India Day presented by Chase on Sunday, January 19 when the Magic host the Boston Celtics with tip off set for 6 p.m. The night will feature an appearance by 2014 Miss America Nina Davuluri, an Indian-American who will share the story of her rise to fame and her platform on racial diversity with fans. There will also be a street festival at Fan Fest (outside on Church Street) that will include Henna tattoo artists, Indian dances and Indian cuisine.
“We value our entire Orlando Magic fan base,” said Magic CEO Alex Martins. “Sports can bring all people together, speaking all languages, and we understand that and what it brings to our community. India Day is just one way for the Magic to show its appreciation to this segment of our fan base for their support and dedication. We are also proud to have a partner like Chase who shares our vision and commitment to our diverse and vibrant city.”
The Magic and Chase have both been committed to multicultural efforts in the past, hosting Noche Latina Night and Black History Month activities. Chase is committed to serving and supporting diversity and inclusion among employees, consumers and the community. Fans can take advantage of a special ticket offer by calling 407-916-2679. In addition, the Indian-American Chamber of Commerce will donate 1,000 tickets to nonprofit organizations throughout Central Florida.
