Orlando Magic losing streak hits 10, fall to Bobcats
The Orlando Magic looked* primed to bounce off their triple-OT loss on Wednesday and show that they could continue to perform at a premier level. They looked, but did not act. The Magic lost their 10th straight game on Friday night, falling to the Charlotte Bobcats 111-101.
Orlando was flat from the get-go trailing 19-2 in the first quarter before fighting their way back throughout the game to finally earn a lead during the third quarter. Unfortunately, the story all season was the same on Friday as the Magic were unable to continue their fight until the buzzer sounded. A 33-point 4th quarter allowed Charlotte to escape Orlando with the victory.
The Magic were led on the night by a returning Arron Afflalo who scored 24 points on the evening. Jameer Nelson and Tobias Harris each had 18 points and Victor Oladipo had a double-double with 10 points and 11 assists.
The Bobcats took full advantage of the absence of the still concussed Nik Vucevic, with Al Jefferson putting up 30 points and 16 rebounds on the evening. Kemba Walker had 19 points and 10 assists, while Gerald Henderson and Josh McRoberts had 17 each.
One day we will all look back on this time of our lives and remember that Victor Oladipo was just learning the game. And that it will be tough to remember him not always being great. Right? Yes? That’s correct, right? Please.
