The NBA announced the results of the 2013-2014 NBA Rookie of the Year award today and Orlando Magic guard Victor Oladipo finished in second place. It came as no surprise that Philadelphia 76ers PG Michael Carter-Williams won the overall award after leading all rookies in scoring, assists and rebounds. MCW became just the 3rd player in NBA history to pace rookies in those three categories.

Oladipo finished his rookie season in second place in scoring (13.8 ppg), third in assists (4.1) and third in mintues per game (31.1 mpg) amongst all rookies.

Victor did receive 16 first place votes and was chosen to be the ROY by media members such as Bill Simmons, David Aldridge, Michael Wilbon and Zach Lowe. All who obviously understand that the 76ers pace and wild, wild west offense led to bloated numbers for Carter-Williams. Viva Oladipo!

Mike Breen of ABC Sports and Jim Barnett of Comcast Sportsnet Bay Area are the only voters who left Oladipo off their 1st through 3rd place ballot – Breen’s NY bias had him vote MCW, Mason Plumlee and Tim Hardaway. You can see the full results after the jump:
