Yahoo: Arron Afflalo has been traded to Denver

According to the master of all trade knowledge, Adrian Wojnarowski, the Orlando Magic have traded Arron Afflalo to the Denver Nuggets. In return for Afflalo, the Magic will receive guard Evan Fournier and the 56th overall pick in tonight’s draft.

The 6’6″ Fournier was the 20th overall pick (one spot after Andrew Nicholson) in the 2012 draft and averaged 8.4 ppg in 76 games for Denver during his second year in the league. Orlando also picked up a 2nd round pick in the draft after coming into the day without one and $6M more flexibility in cap room. Orlando can create as much as $30M in cap room over the next week.

Afflalo was viewed as one of the key assets on the Magic front and this trade is certainly underwhelming from that angle. However, this move SCREAMS of another move to come. This is setting up and creating more flexibility to make moves both tonight and throughout the summer.

Much more to follow.
