Aaron Gordon & Elfrid Payton Officially Sign Magic Contracts
To no one’s surprise, the Orlando Magic have officially signed rookies Aaron Gordon and Elfrid Payton to contracts. Both will now be available to play in Summer League that begins Saturday. Terms of the contracts were not released which is typical team policy. Both players will have 4-year deals with the third and fourth years being a team options which are standard first round draft pick contract structures following the implementation of the current Collective Bargaining Agreement in late 2011.

Knowing that information, we can do some simple rookie salary scale math. #4 pick Aaron Gordon will make $3,992,040 in ’14-’15 while the 10th pick – acquired by the Magic for a conditional 2017 first round pick, #12 pick Dario Saric, and a 2015 second round pick – Elfrid Payton will be bringing home $2,397,840 in his rookie campaign.
