The 31-year-old perimeter specialist spent the last two seasons in Charlotte. Gordon only played in 19 games in ’13-’14, averaging 5.2 ppg, 1.4 rpg, and 1.1 apg on 34.3 FG% and 27.6 3PT%. All are career-lows for the University of Connecticut product. Ben has played in 688 career regular season games, starting in 269 of them. The 2014-2015 campaign will be Gordon’s 11th season in the league. The 3rd overall pick in the 2004 Draft is best known for being a big part of the Chicago Bulls in his first 5 seasons in the Association. All 4 of Ben’s playoff appearances were with the Bulls organization.
Ben Gordon was last waived by Charlotte on March 2nd, which made him ineligible to be picked up by any other team seeking a veteran for the playoffs. Gordon made $13.2 million last season, which concluded his 5-year contract that he signed with the Detroit Pistons back in 2009. TNT’s David Aldridge is reporting that the 2nd-year of Gordon’s contract with the Magic is a team option.
