Ronnie Price is Waived by Orlando
The Orlando Magic organization has officially announced that veteran guard Ronnie Price has been waived. Because Price was waived prior to July 10th, his $1,316,809 for the ’14-’15 season is non-guaranteed and so the franchise owes him no monetary compensation. The 31-year-old signed with the team last year, his 5th NBA stop, and was valued as a solid locker room and practice court mentor for his younger teammates. Magic GM Rob Hennigan continues to clean up Orlando’s roster.
The 6’2″ journeyman from Utah Valley State played in 31 games – starting in two of them – last season for Orlando. Ronnie averaged 2.4 pg, 2.1 apg, and 1.4 rpg on 30.4 FG% and 20.9 3PT% at 12.2 minutes per contest. He led the Magic in assists 6 times in games during the ’13-’14 campaign, including a career-high 11 assists on April 14th in Chicago. Ronnie will always be praised for his constant hustle, being a fantastic individual, a consummate professional, and an outstanding athlete with ridiculous leaping ability.
